If you’ve been living with missing teeth, dental implants may be the answer. A dental implant is a titanium post that is inserted into your jaw bone, acting as a solid foundation for a crown to replace a missing tooth.  Implants are an extremely effective tooth replacement, as they are free standing and don’t require other teeth to support them.

Some minor surgery is required to place a dental implant in healthy bone, with postoperative pain being no worse than that of a tooth extraction. Many of our patients report that their pain subsides within 24 hours of their procedure. We are the dentists at our practice that are accredited to perform dental implant surgeries.

The natural-looking artificial tooth crown can then be attached to the dental implant after 3 to 6 months of healing. The best news is that research shows the success of implants at around 90% after ten years.

Often completed in just one appointment, implant placement requires a small incision in your gum line to allow the titanium implant to be gently guided into your jawbone. With local anaesthetic, you are completely comfortable throughout the procedure, and in fact, many of our patients return to their normal daily routine the following day.

Once your implant is placed it takes around 3 to 6 months to bond with your jawbone, during which time a temporary crown or bridge is placed to give you back your full smile and ability to chew food. We then construct your new prosthetic tooth replacement over a series of appointments. Your temporary teeth are then removed and your new crown or bridge is permanently secured to your implant, rejuvenating your smile and improving your quality of life.

Dental implants from The Dental Gallery can give you back your complete smile that is secure, stable and reliable.
