Orthodontics > Myobrace

At The Dental Gallery we do offer Myofunctional Orthodontic treatment option, in which the muscles of the mouth are trained to function properly over time. Most crooked teeth and small jawbones are caused by the tongue, the lips and the cheeks not functioning properly. By training these muscles using mouthguards, called Myobrace, and daily exercises, the jawbones (and, consequently, the teeth) are given the best opportunity to grow and develop into their own natural positions, sizes and relationships. Children as early as 5 years of age are able to be treated this way, depending on the severity of the case. The optimal age for treatment to commence, though, is between 9 and 10 years of age, just before they lose their remaining baby teeth. Patients who are compliant to the treatment can avoid braces and/or adult tooth extractions in most cases.
