About Us > Dr Donny Mandrawa

Graduating from The University of Melbourne, School of Dental Science, in 1998, Dr. Donny also completed an International Dental Program from The University of Minnesota, U.S.A. in that same year. He was then employed as a dentist by a well-known prosthodontist (crown and bridge specialist), Dr. Timothy Yuen, in Bunbury, Western Australia. There he gained expansive experience in dental crowns, bridges and implants.

In the year 2000, he returned to Melbourne, and due to his credentials, was accepted to work as a dentist at leading dental practices, The Dental Group Dingley and The Dental Group Bayside. For more than four years, he established himself in the field of orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and behavioural dentistry, under the guidance of the three influential principal dentists of these dental centres.

During these early years of his career, he achieved a number of milestones that made him the dentist and person that he is today. One of those noteworthy achievements was co-leading a team of dental volunteers through the Rotary Club, where they treated thousands of Tibetan orphans in North India over a period of 4 weeks in 2002. On that mission, he also met with The Dalai Lama in his residence in Dharamsala.

Dr. Donny also graduated from significant dental continuing education programs, including Comprehensive Orthodontics with Dr. Skip Truitt in 2001, General Practitioner Orthodontics with Dr. Brock Rondeau in 2002, Behavioural Dentistry with Mrs. Sandy Roth in 2004, Orthodontic Mini-residency with Dr. Derek Mahony in 2005, Temporomandibular Joint Therapy and Sleep Studies Mini-residency with Dr. Steven Olmos in 2008, and Advanced Dental Implant Surgery Program with Professor Robert London in 2011. In addition to all that, he also attended countless dental seminars and courses, including those of world-renowned dentists and dental specialists, Dr. Jeffrey Okelson (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Management), Dr. Raymond Bertolotti (Dental Technology) , Dr. Steven Lee (Orthodontics), Dr. Galip Gurel (Aesthetic Dentistry), Professor Noshir Mehta (Neuromuscular Dentistry), Mr. Patrick McKeown (Buteyko Breathing) and the influential Las Vegas Institute Global (Aesthetic and Neuromuscular Dentistry). He participated in international dental conferences and symposiums in Singapore, Hong Kong, and beyond, and gained his Invisalign Accreditation in 2010.  Because he believes that dentistry is ever-changing and it is a science that improves with technology, he will continue to develop and update his dental knowledge and skills tirelessly.

In July 2014, Dr. Donny received the Fellowship award from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). The award is given to only a small number of dentists globally, in recognition of their high achievement and optimal standard of treatment in dental implantology. He accepted the award in October 2014 at the ICOI World Congress in Tokyo, Japan.

In December 2014, Dr. Donny has embarked on another career challenge. He began lecturing for universities around Indonesia, where he trains dentists and dental specialists in Myofunctional Orthodontics, with the aim of improving the overall dental health of the future generations of Indonesian people.

His achievements continued in 2015, where he became certified in the Coulson Technique of Oral Myology, and hence, furthering his skills and knowledge in the field of Myofunctional Orthodontics. He also completed the Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-residency in San Diego, USA.
